Staff Well Being Workshops

Organisations are increasingly aware of the costs of poor psychological well-being among staff. It can lead to reduced motivation, reduced productivity, and high rates of absence due to sickness. All of these impact negatively on an organisation’s effectiveness, and if it’s a commercial organisation, its bottom line. Lemons to Lemonade offers a range of services to help all sizes of organisation deal with this risk.

We offer a dedicated three-hour training session on stress and stress management for staff. The session is designed for groups of up to 20. It covers awareness of how stress develops, how it can affect a person, how it can be recognised, and steps that employees can take to manage stress for themselves.

Stress Audits for organisations

In addition to the negative impacts of work-related stress on the effectiveness of an organisation, organisations must comply with various legal obligations in relation to work-related stress. Lemons to Lemonade offers a bespoke Stress Audit for organisations that involves measurement and analysis of work-related stress across the organisation, and exploration of the causes of work-related stress through confidential individual interviews with staff. We provide individual staff with confidential feedback on their level of work-related stress and general tips on self-management of stress. We provide the organisation with a comprehensive audit report that identifies any work-related stress hot-spots and makes specific recommendations for managing work-related stress in the workforce.

Stress Audits are conducted jointly by Dr. Stephen Skippon and Dr. Rachel Skippon.

Employee Support Service for local small and medium-sized organisations

Large organisations that recognise the importance of psychological well-being often provide Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) via an external provider. These typically provide time-limited counselling (sometimes as few as six sessions per employee) often delivered via telephone. Small and medium-sized organisations often don’t have this kind of support for their staff.

We offer a cost-effective alternative to conventional EAPs for small and medium-sized organisations in the Chester, West Cheshire, and North Wales areas. In small and medium-sized organisations each employee’s contribution matters more to the overall effectiveness of the organisation. We provide face-to-face psychological therapy, at either your own premises (if a suitable room is available) or at our own premises at Broughton Retail Park. We offer a bespoke service tailored to your organisation’s needs, and we recognise that organisations, whatever their size, need to be assured of a professional service that’s confidential, ethical, draws on up-to-date psychological knowledge, and uses effective, evidence-based approaches. We specialise in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which has a very strong evidence base, and Narrative Therapy, which complements CBT and is highly effective at enabling employees to develop more empowering ways of seeing themselves based on their own values, skills, and knowledge. Our more thorough approach means that employees are more likely to regain the motivation and confidence needed to work effectively.

Executive Well-Being

The work of senior leaders in your organisation and key staff at other levels can have a major impact on your effectiveness. You simply can’t afford to have these people running at anything less than 100%. Yet senior leaders and key staff are often exposed to higher risks of work-related stress than other staff, and being in high-pressure jobs can make them more vulnerable to stressors outside work too. Lemons to Lemonade offers two programmes to help organisations maintain the psychological well-being of their senior leaders and key staff.

Executive Stress Management Training

We offer a dedicated training programme on stress and stress management for senior leaders and key staff. The session is designed for small groups with high-level or critical responsibilities. It covers awareness of the stressors that can affect senior staff, how stress develops, how it can affect a person, how it can be recognised, and steps that senior staff can take to manage stress for themselves.

Sessions are interactive and are run jointly by Dr. Rachel Skippon, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and Dr. Stephen Skippon, Clinical Counsellor and Business Coach. We then provide tools for all attendees to measure their individual stress levels, and an individual, confidential one-hour consultation with each attendee. Each attendee receives a confidential report outlining the outcome of their consultation.

Executive Psychological Well-Being Support Programme

Lemons to Lemonade recognises the importance of helping senior leaders and key staff get back on their feet if they encounter psychological difficulties. This can’t be left to the low level of support that traditional Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) offer.

Our Executive Psychological Well-Being Support Programme provides an annual confidential psychological well-being health check for all programme members. When senior leaders or key staff are experiencing emotional or psychological difficulties, we provide confidential face-to-face psychological therapy. This service is delivered by therapists who themselves have worked in leadership roles in organisations and have insight into the pressures faced by senior staff. Individuals can choose whether to work with us at your own premises (if a suitable room is available) or at our own premises at Broughton Retail Park. Our service is professional, highly confidential, ethical, draws on up-to-date psychological knowledge, and uses effective, evidence-based approaches. We specialise in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which has a very strong evidence base, and Narrative Therapy, which complements CBT and is highly effective at enabling senior leaders and key staff to develop empowering ways of seeing themselves based on their own values, skills, and knowledge. Unlike conventional EAPs, our Executive Psychological Well-Being Support Programme is not limited to fixed small numbers of sessions. Rather, we work collaboratively with individual clients to assess their needs and develop a therapy plan that is subject to regular collaborative progress reviews. The aim is to enable your senior leaders and key staff to restore their psychological well-being and their ability to contribute 100% to your organisation. We provide quarterly, six monthly, or annual reports on the work of the programme to the organisation, stressing that, as our work with individuals is confidential, no information about individuals will be disclosed.

Our Executive Psychological Well-Being Support Programmes are tailored to the particular needs of each client organisation.
